Created in 2015, Lakome2 was to be the replacement to its predecessor Lakome, a news website banned in 2013. It was created by Ali Anouzla *hyperlink*. It is an Arabic-language news outlet.
Lakome 2 has an editorial line openly close to the February 20th protest movement, of which a number of its journalists have been active members at the height of the movement. It is supportive of social movements, including that of the Rif Hirak movement. Najib Chaouki, an activist, is it editor-in-chief.
