Med Radio

MedRadio is one of the national leading broadcaster, reaching out to 12,34% of the audience. It was granted a licence in 2009 and rapidly built a name for itself. It is a multi-regional radio, offering a diverse range of programs spanning from news hours to cultural programs and talk shows revolving around mediation and charity programs.

Med Radio is owned by the Société Audiovisuelle Internationale, under the direction of Moulay Ahmed Charai, who is also the owner of Global Media Holding, a media group that owns 3 print outlets, 3 online publications, and owns advertising activities and billboards, as well as a printing plant. Charai was also revealed as having tight links with the secret services.

In 2017, the HACA has sanctioned Med Radio in a case related to hate speech with regards Mamoun Dribi ’s talkshow about the Hirak protests that have been unfolding since early 2017 in the kingdom. In the past, Dribi did raise the ire of listeners on two occasions on his talk-show, without receiving any warning from the HACA; earlier in 2017 when attacking and threatening the protesters of the Hirak movement, and in 2016 when attacking the credibility of Moroccan doctors and the worth of their studies.
