HuffPost Maroc
Created in 2014, as part of the global expansion of The Huffington Post concept, the Moroccan branch was built in partnership with Mediapost Maroc, its current editing company, fully owned by media group Guepard Group - itself owned by lobbyist and media investor Abdelmalek Alaoui.
Its editor-in-chief is Aïda Semlali (a former journalist at the now defunct Le Journal Hebdo and Hola Magazine). Huffpost Maroc is a national version of the HuffPost Maghreb, launched in 2013 in Tunisia. The Moroccan site was to be led by Aboubakr Jamaï and Fadel Iraqi, known for the now defunct Le Journal Hebdo, in association with journalist Kader Abderrahim (formerly at TV5) under the leadership of Alix Etournaud, spouse to Mathieu Pigasse (shareholder of French newspaper Le Monde and of the HuffPost France).
