La Nouvelle Tribune
Founded in 1995 by journalist Fahd Yata, La Nouvelle Tribune is a general news, French-language weekly newspaper. As of 2016, its total circulation averages 9 010 copies with however individual purchase numbers averaging 4 014 copies. It is edited by the group “Impression Presse Édition”. In 2006, the print group Caracteres, owned by billionaire and current Minister of Agriculture, Aziz Akhannouch, entered in the capital of the editing company.
Fahd Yata is the son of former communist militant and leader Ali Yata, exiled and emprisoned on several occasions who later on became general secretary of Morocco’s Socialism and Progress Party [PPS] and who directed two print outlets affiliated to his party: Al Bayane and Al Bayane Al Yaoum. Fahd Yata learned his craft in his father's partisan newspapers in which he served as editor-in-chief.
In 2008, the paper's director Fahd Yata was called in front of the OJD Board to justify the declaration of false, inflated sales numbers. The paper's declaration of sales for 2008 had to be retracted and was replaced by the 2007 one.
