Pulse Media was created as a participative LLC, where founder journalists were shareholders, in 2015 as the publishing company of online news outlet LeDesk.ma with an investment of $700 000. In 2016, this company faced major financial issues as its financial model collapsed - having been based solely on subscriptions, a unique experience in the MENA region- . After a change in its economic model to a freemium formula, in April 2017, the company announced it was opening its capital to politician and businessman Ali Belhaj.
