Telquel Media was created by journalist Ahmed Read Benchemsi as the editing company of the weekly Telquel and later on, the now defunct, Arabic-language weekly Nichane. It is a public company with a capital averaging $US 900 000. The company went through a turnover of owners since its original founders left. Today, it is owned by business man and politician Khalid Hariry and his wife through their holding group KC Invest.
