Created in 2001, by the current director of the State news agency, Maghreb Arab Press (MAP), Khalid Hachimi Idrissi, who started his journalistic career in Maroc Hebdo, known for its close relationship to the regime. It is edited by the company ALM Publishing S. A, now belonging to media group Caracteres. In 2016, this daily paper was drawn at an average of 10 000 copies, is distributed at an average of 5 856 copies while individual purchase hovers at around 1 372 copies. Its current director of publishing is Saâd Benmansour, also publishing and editing director of La Vie ECO. The outlet’s history and editorial line are intertwined with its founder and his ties to political power.
