Chada FM

Chada FM was launched in 2006 as a music radio station with news flashes. Based in Casablanca, it is owned by the Chada Radio company and directed by Rachid Hayeg, its founder, who is also majority shareholder alongside members of his family. Chada FM reaches 5,65% of the audience nationwide.

Hayeg started his experience in the entertainment broadcast sector through the family company, Tasjilat Al Qahira, a producer of Morocco’s most popular singers, such as Abdelhadi Belkhayat, Naima Samih, Hajja ElHamdaouiya among others.

In 2009, during the process leading up to the granting of new radio and TV licences, Hayeg presented a TV project that was not successful in its bid (see TV context - LINK). This has led him to employ creative ways to bypass the need for a HACA licence.

Later this year, he is expected to launch Chada TV channel emitting from Jordan - through Nile Sat - and available online.

Rachid Hayeg is also the owner of a Moroccan music label, called Sawt Al Qahira, and has launched the sister TV channel to Chada Radio, called Chada TV. He is also the founder of the Moroccan center in charge of audience measurements [CIRAD] and held the position of president of the association of independent radios and TVs [ARTI].
